Groundwater Modelling

Kampco Pumps & Dewatering produces computer models to support the design and operation of groundwater control and remediation systems. A model can be used to predict groundwater flows and drawdown patterns and to undertake parametric and sensitivity analyses. Models may also be used to understand problems of settlement and the movement of groundwater contaminants.

A model can incorporate both abstraction and recharge wells, and physical barriers such as sheet-pile cut-offs or diaphragm walls. Site investigation data is used to set up the model; calibration is based on pumping test results or site start-up data. The software used ranges from spreadsheet-based steady-state superposition models to three-dimensional time-dependent contaminant transport models. Industry standard modelling environments such as SEEP/W and MODFLOW are used.
